Career Opportunities in Rainforest Conservation in Malaysia
Do you love the rainforest? The sounds of wild elephants, gibbons and hornbills, while you are jungle trekking? We can offer some wonderful career opportunities in rainforest conservation. You can improve your skills in data collection, camera trapping and other conservation work. Our rainforest conservation and community project is based in Merapoh. It is on the borders of Taman Negara, Malaysia’s largest national park. The project focuses on rainforest conservation and helping a local group of semi nomadic people from the Batek tribe. All interns are expected to learn basic jungle survival skills. You can learn more about the project here.
Merapoh Rainforest Researcher 2018
You will help with collecting data on ground dwelling and arboreal animal presence. The lead researcher is researching arboreal animals using camera traps which you can assist on. You will also collect information to develop a SMART GIS map of the area. Read the full job description
