Application process
Please email your CV/resume with a covering letter to daniel@fuze-ecoteer.com , explaining why you are suitable for the role. Please also state which position you are applying for, when you can start and for how long.

Application Deadline
We don’t have a deadline we accept applications on an ongoing basis.

Duration
Each role has different requirements however for most roles we require at least 2 years for paid roles and 3-12 months for internships.

Benefits
All interns are given free accommodation and share communal food up to Rm500 per month per project – whilst at project site.
If, as an intern, you stay for 7 or more months, then we will give you an allowance of Rm250 per month on your 7th month.

MALAYSIA

ECOTEER HOUSE – PERHENTIAN ISLANDS COMMUNITY PROJECT

The Ecoteer House is a community / Environmental Awareness project based in the village in the Perhentian Islands.  The project leads school clubs, beach cleans, eco snorkel briefings and under Blue Temple a small scale recycling scheme for the resorts and dive centres.

Community Liaison Leader
You will lead small community activities and school clubs each week for the primary school children on the islands – Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots, Environmental club and english club. We use minimal resources and try to take the children outside of the classroom as much as possible.

MERAPOH – MERAPOH COMMUNITY AND CONSERVATION PROJECT

The Merapoh project is based on the borders of Taman Negara, Malaysia’s largest national park.  The project focuses on rainforest conservation and helping a local group of semi nomadic people from the Batek tribe.  All interns are expected to learn basic jungle survival skills.

Teacher
You will lead 3 classes per week for the Batek children – teaching basic levels and in challenging conditions. We use minimal resources and try to take the children outside of the classroom as much as possible.

Start – June til November 2017

Research Assistant
You will help with collecting data on ground dwelling and arboreal animal presence. The lead researcher is researching arboreal animals using camera traps which you can help assist on. You will also help to collect information to help develop a SMART GIS map of the area.

BELUM ADVENTURE CAMP
The Belum Adventure Camp is just that. A camp with high ropes, ziplines and conservation work in the world famous Royal Belum State Park.  With the highest density of elephants, Malayan Tigers and over 300 species of birds the Royal Belum State Park is the best place for experiencing the rainforest.

 

Adventure Camp Assistant
This role requires you to help at the adventure camp. You will be trained to manage safety on high ropes courses and ziplines.  This is a role for a happy go lucky person who wants to learn about adventure ecotourism.
