Community Volunteering

Ecoteer Responsible Travel has several types of community volunteering projects. The Yellow House KL is probably the best example of a community volunteering project. At the centre you can get involved in several types of efforts for the local community. You can teach at the local refugee school, if you are qualified you can help at the local Alzheimer home or perhaps just one of our Indian dinners which helps the local economy and cross-cultural learning.

One key aspect of many of Ecoteer Responsible Travel’s projects is the Malay Dinner, Javan dinner or Indian Dinner. These dinners allow the participant to share a meal with a local family and learn about their culture whilst benefiting the host financially as well. These dinners are community volunteering at their best.

Ecoteer also has community volunteering roles in the Perhentian islands where you can teach and join the local ladies group or lead the boys in sports, we also have an Indian programme helping the poor communities in Delhi.

Another project that might interest you is the South Africa community project. Again the project involves teaching but you can also get involved in medical volunteering for those qualified and help at the community recycling swap shop.
