Volunteer in Asia

Volunteer in Asia with Ecoteer Responsible Travel and you will see a world of diversity, surprise and splendour. You can volunteer in the roof of the world in Nepal to diving deep in the warm tropical waters of Malaysia. Asia has it all for any budding gap year student or experienced traveller.

One of the more popular destinations to volunteer in asia is Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is the home of the elephants and a visit to the gem of the indian ocean is not complete without playing your part in conserving these magnificent creatures.  Ecoteer has two project partners for elephant conservation.  One is focused on collecting research on wild populations where as the other focuses on helping to improve the lifes of domesticated elephants.  Both offer a unique experience.

Or you could head south to party island of Bali.  But you wouldnt find too many tourists at the location of our teach in Bali project as this is high in the mountains near Ubud right off the tourist route.  You will find yourself in a remote village surrounded by beautiful rice paddy terraces and waterfalls.  Plus your host is one of the villagers and he can show you how the real Balinese people live.

Staying in Indonesia you should head west to Java.  On Java we have our very own orangutan and wildlife rescue centre project, Wildlife Rescue Centre Jogja.  Here you can help recuperate various types of animals back to health.  This project is not a zoo and doesnt allow tourists in unless you are volunteering with Ecoteer.  This is a special behind the scenes programe that allows you to get dirty in real animal care work.
